Most of the housing stock we see was built between 1969 and 2012, with a median build year around 1979. That means a lot of the doors and openers we're called out to are original or close to it - steel sectional doors on extension or torsion springs, openers that were state-of-the-art when Carter was president and have been quietly failing ever since. If your house falls in that range, there's a decent chance your hardware does too.
We also cover the mild temperate climate here, which is easier on doors than a lot of the country - you don't get the freeze-thaw cycles that crack panels or swell wood doors up north. That doesn't mean nothing goes wrong. Springs still fatigue on a schedule, tracks still bend, openers still burn out gears.
